Mr. Bobbitt was born I June 4, 1943, in Memphis, | TN, the eldest of five sons of the late Lawrence A. Bobbitt II and Ida Beatrice (Mills).
Growing up in Memphis, he fostered a love for sports, particularly football and baseball. He received his undergraduate degree in history from Memphis State University, following which he served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1971.
