Local prosecutor will be greatly missed

As happens so often in life, many individuals who provide so much to a community pass away without having received the recognition that they deserve for their tireless public service.

One such instance is the recent death of Campbell County Deputy and Prosecuting Attorney Bill Eichelberger Mr Eichelberger upheld the finest standards of a prosecuting attorney. He represented the people of Wyoming with zeal and professionalism but always understood that the pursuit of justice included even-handed fairness.

Mr. Eichelberger and I were adversaries on too many cases to count and upon every single instance, he showed himself to be a prosecutor, a lawyer and a man for whom I had unyielding respect.

When Bill and I faced one another in the courtroom, regardless of the outcome, he was always a gentleman. Also, if Bill Eichelberger represented to me a fact, I could take it to the bank that his word was purer than gold.

My memory of Bill will be meeting with him prior to court, sharing a laugh, and noticing how the former solider was impeccably dressed for...
