General Information

The state of South Carolina's Official Web Site is www.state.sc. us/. The site provides links to nearly all state government agencies and all branches of state government. A list of South Carolina state agency Web sites can be found at www.state.sc.us/ stateage.html.

The South Carolina Reference Desk (www.law.sc.edu/refdes sc.htm) is maintained by the Coleman Karesh Law Library of the University of South Carolina School of Law. This site contains numerous links to South Carolina legal information organized in four categories: courts, legislature, executive and reference.

The South Carolina Bar's Web site is located www.scbar.org and includes information for Bar members as well as general information that's geared toward the public.

The South Carolina Budget and Control Board, Office of Research and Statistics' site, www.orss.state.sc.us, contains a variety of statistics related to South Carolina.

The South Carolina State Constitution can be accessed at www.lpitr.state.sc.us/reports/ sccnst00.htm.

Statutes

The text of current and pending legislation can be viewed at the South Carolina General Assembly's Web site at www. Ipittstate.sc.us. The Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976 is available online at www.lpitr. state.sc.us/ code/statmast.htm.

The current House and Senate Journals can be found at www. 1pitr.state.sc.us/today.htm. Back journals are also available online at www.lpitr.state.sc.us/ basement.htm.

Internet users can also check on the status of current bills in General Assembly at www.leg info.state.sc.us/work/112/bills/ billinfonew.asp by searching under the bill number. Searching by keyword is available at www.leginfo.state.sc.us/work/ 113/query.asp.

Legislative Update, published by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, is available at www. sccc.org. Searches can be done by using the "Legislature" button. The site contains abstracts of the bills introduced in the General Assembly.
