Voice-controlled robots provide significant improvements in some plastic surgical procedures, according to a study presented by Thomas P. Szymula von Richter, Ludwig Maximilians-Universitat, Munchen, Germany, to the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. It examined the effectiveness of one- or two-armed voice-controlled robots in holding devices or clamping fixtures.
