The mid-September journey to Baghdad by former Senator James Abourezk and Representative Nick Rahall, described by Saul Landau in "Doom in Baghdad" (November issue), broke a taboo against dialogue between members of Congress and officials of the Iraqi government. As the organization that sponsored the delegation led by Abourezk and Rahall, the Institute for Public Accuracy is interested in facilitating other such visits to Iraq in the near future. Readers of The Progressive may wish to contact their elected representatives and urge them to make the trip soon on behalf of peaceful dialogue instead of war.
