These goals and objectives were approved by TEI's Board of Directors on August 10, 2004.

Be Current, Stay Current ... Through Quality Education Programs on Tax Developments and Tax Management Issues

* Hold high-quality conferences, seminars, and courses

[] At conferences, fine-tune industry sessions and evaluate limited-attendance workshops

[] Evaluate senior executive conference and, if appropriate, schedule future program

[] Proceed with distance-learning opportunities, including telephone seminars and webconferences

* Complete corporate tax department survey and distribute results

* Evaluate efficacy of salary survey

Be Connected, Stay Connected ... by Enhancing Member Communications and Strengthening Network of Tax Professionals

* Rollout new Internet presence, including chapter websites

[] Enhance content and currency of website and develop integrated communications strategy involving the website, e-mail, and TEI's print communications (including The Tax Executive magazine)

[] Train chapter website administrators and members

[] Develop strategy for communicating value, content, and operation, including demonstration at 2004 Annual Conference

* Enhance role of Regional Vice Presidents and Chapter Representatives as link between TEI and members

[] Develop template for use by chapter representatives in sharing results of Board meetings

[] Hold one or more telephone/Internet conferences with Board of Directors

Be a Voice, Have a Voice ... Through Enhanced Advocacy

* Refine strategy for TEI's involvement in legislative and policy matters

[] Develop process for establishing and managing priorities

[] Clarify appropriate balance of involvement in legislative, policy, regulatory, and administrative issues and proper mix of direct advocacy and information sharing

[] Expand state and local activities, including liaison activities

* Encourage greater member involvement in advocacy by more effectively and timely communicating opportunities (via website, e-mail, and other means)

[] Enhance timeliness of advocacy updates and alerts

[] Enhance communications role of Chapter Representatives
