With the issuance of Executive Order 65, Virginia's governor jump-starred the state's electronic government efforts by creating the Electronic Government Implementation Division. Operating under the Department of Technology Planning, the new e-government division will "work closely with Executive Branch agencies and institutions of higher education to determine the most effective and efficient means of rapidly moving more state government services to the Internet."
