Velella Introduces Bill to Establish Peer Reviews on No-Fault Medical Treatment.

ALBANY. N.Y. (CNS) -- Sen. Guy J. Velella (R.C.-BronxAVcstchester) has filed S. 23 which would authorize the establishment of a peer review, made up of a panel of doctors, to determine the reasonableness and/or necessity of treatment for victims of traffic accidents covered under the no-fault law.

According to Velella, where a peer review or a court determined that unnecessary medical treatment or services have been rendered by a provider, or where such treatment is contemplated, the provider will be barred from collecting payment for the treatment, services or...
