A $70 million contract for work on Sakhalin Island oil fields has been awarded to a subsidiary of VECO Corp.

The joint venture of Russian-based Eastern Construction Co. and VECO Caspian, known as ECC-VECO, will be overseen by Alaska-based VECO Corp.
