Weber and Davis Counties - The FrontRunner Commuter Rail is making the workday commute a bit less hectic, according to Carrie Bohnsack-Ware of the UTHA TRANSIT AUTHORITY (UTA). "Each train will carry 6,000 people a day, eliminating thousands of cars from 1-15," Bohnsack-Ware says. "Workers can use Wi-Fi to get work done while commuting or just relax to arrive at work without road rage."

Bohnsack-Ware says that during peak commute times, a trip on the commuter rail will be shorter on the freeway covering the same distance. During rush hour, when the average speed is 35 mph, trains will continue to run at 60 mph. "Hopefully all those people stuck in traffic will see the train zip by and hop on the next day," she says.

Local businesses are also reaping the benefits of the commuter rail, Bohnsack-Ware says. "Transit options allow downtown employers to recruit workders from a greater distance," she says. "This is true of rail and express bus service. Unique to rail is a dedicated right of way that helps...
