PRESIDENT'S AWARD

WHAT IS A CCIM? WHY USE A CCIM?

There are countless benfits to working with a CCIM. Commercial real estate investment requires the counsel of a qualified professional. A Certified Commerical Investment Member provides clients with the assurance that every decision will be made in the best intererst of their investment objectives.

When assembling a commercial real estate investment team, start with CCIM.

TUCKER WHITE, CCIM: White Buffalo | 2019 CCIM President

Tucker White has over seventeen years of commercial real estate (CRE) experience. During his career, Tucker has successfully facilitated the sale of over 6.5 million sq. ft. of office, retail and industrial investment property with a value of more than $1 billion. Tucker invests primarily in self-storage, value-add CRE and development opportunities.

Tucker is a CCIM designee and served as the Utah chapter President while being active In ULI, ICSC and NAIOP.

Tucker received an MBA from Westminster College and a Master's in Real Estate Development from the University of Utah.

Known as a thought leader in the industry, Tucker has presented at the NAIOP symposium, CCIM RealCon and the University of Utah school of business. Tucker is currently a professor in the MRED program at the University of Utah.

2020 HALL OF FAME

VASILIOS PRISKOS

InterNet Properties

Vasilios Priskos left an enduring legacy on his hometown. Born on a small island in Greece, his family immigrated to Utah in 1966 where they established Royal Burger in downtown Salt Lake City. Priskos' first job was flipping burgers at the establishment, but it wasn't long before he was ready to leave a mark of his own.

After earning his license as a real estate broker, Priskos had a vision for Salt Lake City, and especially Main Street. Where others saw outdated or dilapidated buildings, he saw the opportunity to create spaces for Eva's Bakery, Mollie & Ollie, Whiskey Street, Apollo Burger, and Neumont University.

Recognized by the city as one of the most influential developers of downtown Salt Lake City, he is perhaps best immortalized by his four sons who remember him as a man-about-town. "If we wanted to go to lunch, it would take 20 minutes to get down the block," says Nico Priskos, Priskos' son and the managing partner of InterNet Properties. "He knew absolutely everyone. He was the unofficial mayor of Salt Lake City."

That passion drew Nico into the business. At only 19 years of age, he got his real estate license and got a job working for his dad. "When I came into the office, he just gave me a phone and a desk and said 'get to work,"' he remembers. "He said to start making money and to help out when he needed it."

Indeed Priskos was known to work from sunup to sundown, working tirelessly at something he considered a passion project. "When it came to Salt Lake City, it was always 'how are we going to grow this more? How are we going to get more people downtown? How are we going to get people to live down here?'" says Christian Priskos, another of Priskos' sons, COO/Managing Partner with InterNet Properties. "He was always very positive about the progression of our city."

"I'm most proud of what he created in such a short amount of time," says Nico. "He was only in the real estate industry for 20 years--and he had no prior experience except flipping hamburgers. And he did wonderful things in the city, especially on Main Street. He turned dilapidated buildings into world-class restaurants and campus space, and it's quite impressive when you think about the short amount of time he had working on the city and its culture."

Vasilios Priskos passed away in 2017, but a memorial was erected in his honor near the Eccles Theater in January of this year, and his legacy will continue as this year's CCIM Hall of Fame honoree--an award dedicated posthumously to that most industrious soul.
