Tyler Callantine has spent a lifetime navigating some of the Western United States' most amazing rivers. His grandfather, who began river rafting and river guiding in the Vernal area in the 1930s, started a legacy for Callantine and his wife, Jennifer, who own and operate Dinosaur River Expeditions in the Vernal area.

"I've been guiding river trips in the Dinosaur National Monument area for the last 21 years," Callantine says. "We purchased the company three years ago. Ever since I was little I've always been around river guiding and river rafting, so when I was old enough to get a guide license, I did and I've been here ever since."

The Dinosaur National Monument area boasts two of the West's most beautiful rivers, the Green River and the Yampa River. The two rivers are just prized river sections for four- to five-day rafting trips, and Vernal is obviously really close to those rivers so it's a great location to be based out of," Callantine says.
