Scrud's Gourmet Grub: Innovation on a Bun

Brett "Scrud" Lyman doesn't quite know how his Ogden restaurant became so popular so quickly. A few years earlier he had run a location of Scrud's Gourmet Grub in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, which had been popular but struggled during the long winter months. So he took a risk, closed that location and opened a new Scrud's on Historic 25th Street in Ogden in May 2014. The opening went better than he could have imagined.

"I don't know how they heard about me, but opening day there was a family that drove all the way from Cedar City to try my food," Lyman says. "I don't know how they knew or why they would make that drive for a burger."

From that day on, word has continued to spread and business has been brisk. Scrud's serves a menu of burgers and fries, chicken sandwiches, wings and shakes.
