Usibelli Coal Mine, Hyundai Merchant Marine and Korean East West Power Co. celebrated the first shipment of coal, scheduled to be loaded and shipped from Seward, and the transfer of the coal-loading facility in Seward to the Alaska Railroad.

The activities mark the restart of coal shipments to Korea after a one-year hiatus. Hyundai, Usibelli and Korea East West Power signed a memorandum of understanding agreeing to continue shipment of coal from Alaska to Korea for two years.
