In response to the recently issued Statement on Standards for Accounting and Review Services No. 9, Omnibus Statement, the Accounting and Review Services Committee has issued an updated illustrative representation letter. SSARS No. 9 requires an accountant to obtain a representation letter when performing a review engagement. SSARS No. 9 also requires specific representations to be included in the letter. The revised representation letter addresses the specific requirements and will replace the existing letter in Appendix F of SSARS.
