Update on the Latest Programs and Events in Your

Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section

Fall Meeting

We were delighted to welcome TIPS members to a very

productive Fall Meeting, October 16–20, 2024, at the Royal

Sonesta in Kauai to plan for the year ahead. In advance of the

Fall Meeting, we were thrilled to launch the inaugural Insur-

ance In-House Counsel and Professionals Summit, featuring

topics concerning AI, nuclear verdicts, and cybersecurity,

addressed by our Section sponsors Thomson Reuters and the

American Arbitration Association, along with TIPS committee

leaders from our Appellate Advocacy; Corporate Counsel;

Cybersecurity and Data Privacy; Excess, Surplus Lines, and

Reinsurance; Insurance Coverage; Insurance Regulation; and

Sta Counsel Committees.

Awards

At the opening plenary session at the Fall Meeting, we were delighted to honor Akira Heshiki

and Floyd Holloway for their years of TIPS service. Akira received the Insurance In-House

Summit Champion recognition, while Floyd received the James A. Carroll Leadership Award.

Congratulations to them both! Z
