At the annual fall conference held at the Naval Submarine Base, Groton, Conn., the NDIA Undersea Warfare committee awarded seven medals for outstanding achievements in the field.

Robert Ahlers, Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division, was recognized for his contributions in the areas of training and simulation development for undersea warfare applications.

Gregory Ames, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, R.I., received his award for his pioneering work that dominates current research and development of fiber optic sonar systems. Anthony Dandridge, Naval Research Laboratory, was recognized for his contributions in the area of fiber optic acoustic sensors development for undersea warfare applications, which have formed the basis for current and next generation sonar systems for the Navy.
