Ultra-Small Near Infrared Camera Introduced.

Indigo Systems, located in Santa Barbara, Calif., has introduced the ultra-small Alpha NIR camera, which, company officials say, can be used for detection of telecommunications laser radiation, especially in the near and shortwave-infrared wavebands.

The camera employs a 320 by 256 Indium Gallium Arsenide focalplane array and is highly sensitive to wavebands from 900 to 1,700 nanometers. Applications include laser-beam profiling, silicon-wafer characterization, fiber alignment and inspection, and optical component measurements and analysis.
