Uber 911 safety integration rolls out to southern NJ counties.

Ride-sharing company Uber is expanding its 911 information sharing program to include southern New Jersey counties, so when a rider or driver uses the in-app emergency button to call 911 key trip details will be automatically sent to 911 dispatchers to use to respond in an emergency.

Uber first introduced the emergency button for riders and drivers in 2018 in select other locations in the United States. The feature shows GPS location and car details such as make, model, color, and license plate in the app so that when a rider or driver taps Uber's emergency button to call 911, they can tell dispatchers that information.
