U.S. Treasury Secretary addresses IFA franchising roundtable.

U.S. Treasury Secretary John W. Snow met in October with Minneapolis franchise representatives to discuss issues of concern to the business sector. Organized by the International Franchise Association, the roundtable was hosted by International Dairy Queen CEO Chuck Moody at the company's corporate headquarters. Sec. Snow gave his views and sought input on issues such as tax policy, healthcare, litigation reform and the economy.

"Owning and operating a franchise is a great way to be self-employed and to create jobs for the people in your community, so I want to commend all of the franchise owners here today," Snow remarked. "As small-business owners, each one of you is the embodiment of America's economic strength and dynamism, and you are also the embodiment of something less tangible but even more important: the American Dream."
