U.S. Quantum Computing Gets Financial Injection.

National Defense in its January issue ran a story "Quantum Computing Bill Stalls in Senate." But the day the magazine went to the printer, President Donald Trump signed the National Quantum Initiative Act into law, which gives about $1.3 billion over the next five years to the Department of Energy, NIST and the National Science Foundation to spend on the cutting edge technology.

That sum, say experts, is a drop in the bucket compared to what China is spending as it pursues its stated goal of mastering the technology within the next decade.
