Brown v. Bargery, 207 F.3d 863 (6th Cir. 2000). An inmate brought an in forma pauperis [section] 1983 action against prison officials alleging they violated his Eighth Amendment rights by improperly installing his sleeping bunk upside down. According to the inmate, the improper installation o the bunk caused him to slide off and land on the concrete floor, and the anchor bolts that fastened the bunk to the wall improperly protruded into the sleeping area.
