Shehee v. Luttrell 199 F.3d 295 (6th Cir. 1999). A prisoner sued prison employees and officials claiming violation of his constitutional rights in connection with his termination from a prison work assignment. The district court denied the defendants motion to dismiss but the appeals court reversed and remanded. The appeals court held that officials who were not involved in the inmate's termination from his commissary job and whose only roles involved the denial of administrative grievances or the failure to act, were not liable under [sections] 1983.
