No matter where on Earth they live, people are grumpier in the early morning and late afternoon, and happier around breakfast time and just before bed, according to an analysis of Twitter posts from around the world. Researchers at Cornell University analyzed the tweets of 2 million people in 84 countries, using software that tallied up emoticons and distinguished positive words like awesome and agree from negative ones like annoy and afraid.
