By refusing to hear Minnesota's case against the Minnesota Twins and Major League Baseball, the U.S. Supreme Court ended the state's efforts to use antitrust laws to stop the baseball team from relocating outside the state. Two years ago, Minnesota's attorney general opened an investigation into possible antitrust violations when the team threatened to move to North Carolina after the Minnesota Legislature failed to approve tax-backed bonds for a new stadium.
