When Johnny Knoxville, star of MTV's gross-out stunt show Jackass, says, "Don't try this at home," not everybody hears the word "don't."

Inspired by Knoxville, a 13-year-old boy in Connecticut recently suffered critical burns when a friend doused his pants and shoes with gasoline and lit a match, according to police.

On one Jackass episode, Knoxville had become a human barbecue, lying on a hot grill with meat strapped to his body. Knoxville wore a flame-resistant suit. The boy did not.

Another recent life-imitates-TV incident involved the World Wrestling Federation. A N-year-old boy in Florida was convicted of murder for imitating pro wrestling moves on a 6-year-old girl, killing her.
