Whether it's family game night or a rainy Saturday afternoon, some of our favorite moments are playing board games with the children. We tried out a few of the latest offerings from Winning Moves Games, Danvers, Mass., and enjoyed the new twists on our old favorites.

First up was Big Boggle, which has a larger grid--five by five--and puts nine more letters into play than the standard game. In this version words must be at least four letters long and, with the addition of a unique double letter cube, making valuable five- and six-letter words is more common.

Starling out with combinations such as Qu, Th, and He opens up the possibilities for creating longer words and getting higher scores.The game includes a dome cover for the grid to make mixing up the letters easier and a three-minute sand timer.

Tile Lock Scrabble brings a new spin to this much-loved game by using an innovative game board to lock the tiles in place. Not only is it convenient for turning the board to strategize words, but it's also great for travel.
