Water--not bread--should be The Staff of Life, and the citizens of Plaistow might strongly agree. Groundwater is their concern. The town of 8,500 is almost wholly dependent on that precious resource for its domestic water supply, yet Plaistow is home to the notorious Beede Waste Oil [Superfund] Site. And the recent drought caused some wells to go dry, adding to local concerns. With all this in mind, CLF is working with local officials and stakeholders to develop regulatory strategies aimed at protecting the precious water resource.
