Trident pays $2.25 million for apartment site in Rogers.

An entity related to St. Cloud-based Trident Development has paid $2.25 million for the site of a planned 168-unit apartment complex in Rogers.

Vincent Woods Partners LLC acquired the property from TW Land Company LLC, also of St. Cloud, according to a certificate of real estate value filed this week in Hennepin County. The sale includes a 14.62-acre property and an adjacent 4.6-acre parcel at the southwest quadrant of Highway 81 and Marion Court.

The bigger parcel sold for $371,000 in 2013 and has an assessed 2018 market value of $1 million, according to Hennepin County property records. The smaller property has an assessed 2018 market value of $242,000.

Trident couldn't be reached for comment Wednesday.

Last summer, Trident presented plans for 168 market-rate apartments in two buildings on the combined site.

Jason Ziemer, Rogers' community development coordinator, said last summer that the project would be the city's largest multifamily development in years. Ziemer said some large employers in town have expressed a desire for more housing that would be affordable for their workers.
