Begun in 1986, this wilderness resort has more than 80 homes "lost in the woods." They are hard to find. The developer's plan is to locate homes on large private tracts so that they blend into the forest.

Many are log cabins, adding to the feeling that you've entered a different time and place. Deer, turkeys, owls and fish share the environment with the owners.

Amenities include streams, a lake, a pool, tennis courts, restaurant, stables, a riding ring, miles and miles of trails and acres of mountain wilderness. All the attractions of the High Country of Boone and Blowing Rock are within an hour's drive. Private luxury cabins are available for vacation rentals when their owners aren't using them.
