IADC member Daniel J. Pope of Chicago, with help from several persons he graciously acknowledges in the introduction, has produced the second edition of Mark Dombroff's classic handbook, Trial Objections.

Pope writes, "This book is written by trial lawyers for trial lawyers. It is intended to place at your fingertips during trial a citation that can save a crucial piece of evidence or block your opponent from introducing tainted evidence - often the difference between winning and losing your case." That is true, scholarship mixed with practicality are evident throughout. But equally important is the book's handy-dandy format and convenient size, coupled with the looseleaf construction that permits updating, already in place in 1996.

The chapters are "Introduction: Objections in General," "Preliminaries: Jury Selection," "Evidence: Demonstrative Evidence," "Witness: Competence of Witness," "Misconduct: Attorney Misconduct" and "Summation: Closing Argument."
