Treasury's Eric Solomon to receive TEI's DSA.

TEI's Board of Directors voted in October to award the Institute's Distinguished Service Award to Eric Solomon. Mr. Solomon will step down as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Tax Policy at the end of the Bush Administration. The Institute will present the award to Mr. Solomon at its Midyear Conference in March.

TEI's President Vincent Alicandri called Mr. Solomon "a true believer not only in administrable rules and taxpayer service, but in collaborative tax administration." He cited Mr. Solomon's outreach to the tax community--and to TEI, in particular--for advice and help on a wide variety of projects. "Beyond his protean knowledge of the tax law and his superior management skills," Mr. Alicandri said, "Eric Solomon is one of the nicest, most humble individuals TEI has had the privilege of working with. He clearly walks the talk."
