With regard to Joshua Yaffa's article on Edward Tufte, "The Information Sage--[May/June 2011], I was a student of Tufte's at Princeton in 1968-70. He was mesmerizing and enormously effective, with the ability to teach liberal arts majors to master regression analysis (done by hand on a mechanical calculator) and to present the results clearly and graphically.
