TRAX line to airport opens.

Salt Lake City--Call back your brother and tell him you don't need a ride to the airport after all. The 6-mile TRAX Green Line extension to Salt Lake International Airport, a project four years in the works, started operating on Sunday, April 14.

Chad Saley, UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY spokesman, says the line is expected to cater to many people who don't usually ride other TRAX lines because it will save them from having to find rides to the airport. UTA expects about 4.500 riders per day.

"I think this is the line that more people have been excited about than anything else in transit." Saley says.

The airport line is an extension of the TRAX Green Line, which runs from West Valley City and into downtown Salt Lake City. There are six stops on the route...
