Advanced Micro Devices has introduced new processors in the C series and E series of its Fusion accelerated processing units, which combine central processing units and graphics processing units in one chip. Amazon, Google Judge's ruling clears the way for online music storage. In a case filed by record labels against music-storage service MP3tunes, a judge ruled that users are responsible for knowing whether their music is pirated and that MP3tunes is not responsible under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Android Malware attacks on Android devices increase 76%. Android devices are now the favorite among malware developers, according to U.S. computer security firm McAfee, which measured a 76% jump in attacks on the mobile platform in the second quarter compared with the first. Android passed Nokia's Symbian as the most-attacked mobile operating system. "This year we have seen record breaking numbers of malware, especially on mobile devices, where the uptick is in direct correlation to popularity," said Vincent Weafer, McAfee Labs' senior vice president. Apple Best Buy gave away old iPhones; is iPhone 5 imminent? . You know a new version of a product will be released soon when they start giving away older versions. That's what's happening with the iPhone, as its fans eagerly away the release of the iPhone 5. Beatweek Magazine reports that Best Buy Co. Inc. on Tuesday was giving away the aging iPhone 3GS. But it wasn't completely "free," as consumers had to sign up for a two-year contract. The iPhone 4 N the most recent version on the shelves N has not seen a price drop, said the magainze, which focuses on music, podcasting and Apple products such as the iPad, iPod and iPhone. Beatweek said this is the first time that Apple Inc. has allowed a retailer to give away old iPhones. In the past, Apple has allowed retailers to sell refurbished iPhones for $9. Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that Sprint would be among the U.S. carriers offering the next generation of iPhones that are expected to be rolled out in October. Apple Apple is said to be preparing for iPad 3 launch in early 2012. Apple may begin assembling its third iPad in test runs as early as October, according to reports from Asian component suppliers who say the company has ordered key parts for the new version with an eye on launching a 9.7-inch tablet early next year. Best Buy Best Buy will offer rent-to-own option. Consumers who don't meet Best Buy's credit standards or who don't want to take on additional debt will be able to rent electronics, according to Rent-A-Center, which plans to open RAC Acceptance kiosks in Best Buy stores in California.
