This is a thank you note for Matthew Rothschild. His "Editor's Note" has been my favorite part of the magazine.

His opinions and analyses have been consistently compassionate and clear thinking. His insights have helped me get past the propaganda and pseudopatriotic cliches that permeate the media. His outrage has given me courage to speak up for unpopular causes and points of view. His style is so personal and charming that I feel like a friend of mine is moving on.

I am looking forward to reading Matthew Rothschild's future columns in The Progressive. I wish him the best in any future endeavor.
