Frank Daniels III, whose family held onto The News & Observer for 101 years before selling it in 1995, is letting go of the two dot-coms he's built since then. San Francisco-based Quokka Sports Inc. is buying Total Sports, the Raleigh-based sports Web site and publisher he had spun off from KOZ.com.
