Compiled and produced by Joe Conzo (Tito Puente's right-hand man and confidant during most of his career) for Emusica/Fania, this special 2-CD package features classic Tico 78 RPM recordings of Tito Puente and his Conjunto/Orchestra and Quartet, originally recorded from 1949 to 1955. With most of the tracks remastered from the original 78 RPM recordings (due to the non-existence of the original master tapes) some surface noise, pop and clicks are audible, making this historical recording more natural and realistic, without affecting your listening and/or dancing pleasure. While the legendary superb Cuban singer Vicentico Valdés functions as lead vocalist on the majority of the tracks, other featured vocalists include Johnny López, Bobby Escoto and Graciela.
