4THE BRIEF Fall 2024
View from the Chair
In this second message in The Brief, I want to focus on the
TIPS Section Conference May 7–10, 2025, where we will
be celebrating our 10th anniversary (2015–2025) of Section
Conferences and more than 90 years as a Section.
Our very special guests will be U.S. Supreme Court Justice
Sonia Sotomayor and Judge Michelle Childs of the U.S. Court
of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Both have
agreed to a panel discussion at our gala, in what will be a truly
unforgettable evening at the Smithsonian Institution’s National
Museum of African American History and Culture.
Mark your calendars now as we will have a packed confer-
ence space with TIPS partnering with the GPSolo Division and
the Judicial Division. Our Section Conference Co-Chairs—
Jordan Howlette, Michelle Worrall, Victoria Alvarez, and Chris
Ward—have been working tirelessly on the programming
surrounding the gala, and we are ready to share a sneak peek
with you a month before the Section Conference brochure
will actually be released. You will see in these 13 panels, two
of which will provide 2.5 hours of ethics credit, that the focus
on business development is critical:
