This mom-and-pop manufacturer has been in the filter business since pop--chemist Arnold Williams--went on a pack trip in the Flattop Wilderness Area in 1986. After watching his backcountry companions struggle with filters of all shapes and sizes, Williams said. "I ought to be able to do better than that," and co-founded Timberline with his wife Millie.
