Employment throughout Alaska: a steady increase February 2003 to February 2004.

The number of individuals employed throughout Alaska has steadily grown in the period of one year (February 2003 to February 2004). The total number of individuals employed in Alaska was 309,104 in February 2004, compared to 293,910 just one year prior, indicating a 5.17 percent increase in the total number of people employed throughout Alaska.

Interestingly, the total number of individuals employed throughout Anchorage also has increased. In February 2004, the number of employed individuals in Anchorage was 144,876, compared to 137,450 in February 2003, suggesting a 5.41 percent increase in the total number of people employed in this area. Fairbanks also has experienced an increase in the number of people employed. The total number of people employed in Fairbanks was 40,668 in February 2004, compared to 39,140 in February 2003. This increase indicates an almost 4 percent growth in the total number of people employed throughout Fairbanks.
