The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld California's "three strikes law" ("Three Strikes and You're in for life," 1/24/03), rejecting constitutional challenges to sentences of 25 years without parole for a man who stole three golf clubs, and 50 years without parole for another who stole children's videos. Both men had committed previous property crimes that qualified as prior "strikes"...
