Last week, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Glenn Yamahiro easily defeated former Judge Robert C. Crawford, receiving 65 percent of the vote, compared with Crawford's 35 percent. Yamahiro, the incumbent, received 134,705 votes to Crawford's 72,924 votes.

Yamahiro, 43, is now the first Asian American elected circuit court judge in Wisconsin. Gov. Jim Doyle appointed him to the Branch 34 seat last December. Prior to that, he spent four years as a court commissioner in Milwaukee County. Yamahiro's background includes...
