Three chapters get achievement awards.

Congratulations go to the three chapters that won the outstanding chapter achievement award for the 2002-03 year. The winners were Austin (small chapter), District of Columbia (medium chapter) and Dallas (large chapter). The runners-up were: for small chapters, Northeast Wisconsin and Central Florida; medium-sized chapters, St. Louis and Orange County; and large chapters, Boston and Silicon Valley.

The awards were given to the chapters at the FEI Summit in May. Chapters were judged on a point system in which points were given for each area of chapter operation. While all three chapters excelled in chapter operation, each had some outstanding areas.

Austin had outstanding chapter programs this year, with speakers such as Bob Wayman, CFO of Hewlett-Packard, and Gary Kelly, CFO of Southwest Airlines. Austin's programs are planned well in advance, often 12 to 18 months out. This has contributed to membership growth and outstanding meeting attendance, which often exceeds 80 percent of the chapter members.
