GLENMONT, N.Y. -- The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State presented Maria Thomas with its Industry Professional of the Year award at the annual Long Island Regional Awareness Program. Thomas is vice president of Brokerage Sales & Client Relations for Friedlander Group.

Thomas has worked in the insurance industry for 35 years, including both brokerage and insurance companies. She is actively involved in a number of industry associations and also serves several Long Island charity organizations.
