Ah, growing pains. No matter how hard we try, it seems that whenever changes are implemented that are supposed to make things better, inevitably, something goes awry. And so it was with the implementation of our new format here at MQ. Due to some software glitches, some of our Spring issues were not delivered timely.

We offer our very sincere apologies to all of you for that. We're working diligently to ensure that this issue goes out smoothly. On time. To everyone. Because it's a great Summer issue!

Communications, safety and benefits are all hot topics these days. Bob Ray, winner of the coveted CEO Communication Leadership Award conferred by the electric co-op industry's Spotlight on Excellence Awards program, gives us his unique and engaging insights. The award recognizes a CEO who advances communication in the electric cooperative industry. Mr. Ray was cited specifically for "demonstrating a clear understanding of and commitment to the strategic role of communications in employee, member and community relations."
