TWO EXHIBITIONS devoted to a legendary Village Voice photographer Fred W. McDarrah--who had a 50-year association with the alternative newsweekly--are running simultaneously at the Museum of the City of New York.
"The Voice of the Village: Fred W. McDarrah Photographs," is on view through Dec. 1.
A curious, knowledgeable, and indefatigable visual chronicler, McDarrah (1926-2007) created an encyclopedic archive of culture and politics for The Village Voice--from the Beats of the 1950s to the counterculture of the 1960s to major political events of the early 1970s.
