2008 has been a great year for the all-star aggregation that calls itself The Voices of Latin Rock. Leader Abel Sánchez (of Abel & The Prophets fame) gets the ensemble on the road by performing a repertoire of classic Latin rock, as played back in the day by bands like Malo, Azteca, Sapo, and Santana. This album was recorded in Phoenix, Arizona, and it captured the band "live" at a slamming show. Guitarist Jorge Santana is part of the all star band, along with his Malo singers (Arcelio García and Richard Bean), and together, they run through Malo's finest material: Nena, Cafe, and the ultimate Latino Iove song, Suavecito, done nicely by a great band that includes the Santana trumpeter Bill Ortiz.
