Joris van der Voet received his doctor-
ate in public management from Erasmus
University Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
He is currently a postdoctoral researcher
in the Institute of Public Governance and
Management at ESADE Business School in
Barcelona, Spain. His research focuses on
processes and outcomes of organizational
change in public organizations, including
change management, leadership, innova-
tion, public sector reform, and cutback

is part of Routledge’s Masters in Public Management
series, has the aim of providing a comprehensive
introduction for undergraduate students to conduct-
ing research in the f‌i eld of public administration and
public management.
e point of departure of the book is that the
uniqueness of research in public management and
public administration warrants a separate book on
