The Times They Are A-Changin’: A Preview of The Colorado Lawyer Redesign

The Colorado Lawyer is one of the CBA’s flagship membership benefits. It helps our members, some who only read TCL on their phone and others who still line up every hard copy edition on their office shelves, stay current on the law. Five hundred and forty-eight editions since its inception, our members still tell us how valuable TCL is to them.

The TCL Advisory Board is excited to launch a redesigned magazine with the July issue. I’m sharing this month’s President’s Message with Marci Glenn, board chair, who will outline details of the redesign.

Thank you to the entire board (Casey Cassinis, Amy DeVan, Leonard Frieling, Marcy Glenn, David Kirch, Chris Levkulich, Forrest Plesko, Ronald Sandgrund, Daniel Sears, Michelle Sylvain, Patrick Thiessen, and James Witwer), and especially to the redesign team, Marcy, Amy, and Forrest. I’d also like to recognize Susie Klein, TCL managing editor, and Heather Folker, the CBA’s director of communications and marketing, for their vision, focus, and persistence in helping complete the redesign.

Make sure you don’t miss next month’s issue. I had a sneak peek and you are in for a treat!

The inaugural issue of TCL was published in November 1971.[1] It was 6"x9" in size, designed to be small enough to fit into a male attorney's suit pocket with no consideration given to the small number of women attorneys in the state at that time. It had only two short articles, and reprinted appellate opinions filled 110...
